USonic www.UnrealArgentina.com server (Apparently there's an active UT99 fanbase in South America. They even have clans and supposedly there is clan activity.)

Xoldog 400 server (This is a German server that runs standard regular weapons CTF and custom maps, but with a ghey translocator throw limit mod. It's often populated during European prime time.)

PUG Matches: You might also enjoy 5v5 clan-match style PUG matches where people use Teamspeak for voice comm. In a PUG, two captains draft-pick the other 8 players for their team with the idea being to get balanced teams and a more intense game. They are organized on IRC (Internet Relay Chat) using a pugbot program. You can find them here:

FYI to Fermi owners – these cards currently have serious performance issues in UT2004. My GTX480 is way slower than my old GTX285 in this game.

Best game ever.

I loved UT2004!! I loved everything about it. such an excellent game. I put soooo many hours into this game..... oooo, what a blast!

But when I upgraded my PC a few years back, my new 8800GTS could not play this game back smoothy. Some sort of drive issuse, it took them years for nvidia to fix this. Even now thats its fix, if i run the game sometimes it BSOD my PC.
I have read that this issuse doesnt exist under Vista/7.

i think i still have that game. it was a bit of fun for a spell, then I just got tired of being pwned by wee 6th graders.

so I stopped. :\

Epic needed more money so they made UT3, and killed the whole fucking franchise.
Now the only popular stuff is on Steam, which is fine if thats what you like. But for those of us who prefer Unreal style play, there is no one cohesive online community anymore.
 
shorty, Downward spiral and MXC i think were both contacted to start a TAM tournament or ladder, not sure. So there are people who want to compete, just not place to facilitate it. Im pretty sure its in the works. A guy named "revel" at least i think thats what he goes by
 
UT3 is alive and well... and yes, there is nothing like the game-style play of Unreal Tournament. The double jump and dodging off walls is kick ass; its total kung-fu style fighting... in its own way

I reinstalled the game a few times in the past because of posts like the OP's then I log in and see that all I ever play with are bots... I leave it un-played for months then uninstall it eventually.

I miss the 2000-2002 days when UT'99 was the shit and even played among co-workers... we would play till 1 or 2am and talk about it all day at work... look stats up, etc. It's definitely the people that make it... if there's no one around, it's good as dead.
