a few months ago I posted here about my problem with the game, using my x1950 pro card, at first it was D3d only, open gl worked fine, well about 2 weeks ago open gl started acting up too, getting very jerk for no reason.

I always thought it was drivers for the graphics card..........well the problem was my main system ram, the problem started after switching from a ati 7200 to the x1950 pro, it did NOT affect other games, just old UT

my ram is old and tired it appears, and the extra heat from the x1950 pro pushed one 512mb stick over the edge, I am now running with just one 512 stick, it works fine for old UT but with some newer games I needed more ram....will have to buy some now

main system was never overclocked, running windows XP

Interestingly enough, this does not surprise me.

I've found UT2k4 to be one of the best RAM stress tests i can run...seems that the UE engine games are extremely RAM sensitive (in stability terms).

I have UT 2004, never much of a problem with that one, thou it did crash rarely, maybe it was the tired ram

one thing is my vision tek x1950 pro has the copper plate on the top side, it gets on the hot side and is just below the ram, plus the cpu fan duct sucks the air from the plate and runs it across the ram adding heat to it
