USPS>UPS

So for the first time in around 90 packages in the past 2 years, USPS lost a shipment of mine. I got the insurance form filled out and was taking my time to get it collected because on the sheet it says you have to wait around 2 months for the check to arrive. Today I finally went in to file the claim, I hand the lady the information, she goes into the back to check on it, and comes back out. When she comes out she asks if I would like to wait for her to get her manager's signature, or have them mail it to me, I didn't quite understand what she was asking, and I had time so I said I would wait, approximately 5 minutes later she comes back out with an envelope with the insurance claim, and instead of the insurance claim ticket attached to it there was a Postal Money Order for the ammount of the item + shipping. Apparently under $100 they can pay on the spot. The first and only time I shipped anything UPS I told them it was fragile, but I had packet it well. When it got to its destination, there was a noticeable dent/gash in the side, and when the recipient opened the package, the item was broken, when I went to claim insurance they informed me that the recipient should not have accepted the package since it was damaged, neither of us knew that and I lost about $80.

I learned to never put fragile on a UPS package. Those boys look for the softest fooshball they can kick.
