Or is it not guaranteed? All I see is this
Delivery within 2 days in most cases.

Anyone ever have a Priority Medium Box package not show up as delivered after 8 business days? I have the package insured so I want to know how long to file a claim on it being lost.

I never use USPS for priority shipping. The item always arrives late. For 2 day shipping I prefer Fedex.

i believe priority is not guaranteed at all. but 8 days is a long time for priority, but also depends where it came from.

and maybe the other person in the party is lying.

Dude, its Christmas. Dont be a jackass.

I didn't think about it like that. But damn, 8 days (10 regular days) seems like a bit much. The tracking hasn't been updated either. It still says: Electronic Shipping Info Received.

I know USPS doesn't do tracking at all, but that seems as if it hasn't even been scanned into the system at all yet. :(

sounds like it actually hasn't been shipped yet. sounds like they created the label and waiting for it to be picked up or delivered to the post office.

I created the label on my PC and dropped it at a brick and mortar USPS office where they took it. They have the package for sure.

I'm going to call them up in an hour or two.

I'm waiting on a Priority package, too. USPS received electronic info on the 9th, but didn't show any status updates until the package hit my local post office today.

Wouldn't hurt to have them put a trace on it.

It's not guaranteed, just that in normal circumstances, it takes 3-5 days.
This time of year though, could take 2 weeks +-!
(Sent another trader here, 2 states away, a laptop once around this time of year, took ~2 weeks for him to get it Priority, we were both sweating bullets!)

If it's something super important, better spend the extra $ & send it Express.

USPS Priority "tracking" only shows pickup and delivery not the in-between progress like UPS or FedEx

USPS.com FAQ says:
- Typically two to three days to most locations in the US (Specific delivery standards may be available when postage is calculated). This is not a guaranteed service.
- Trackable: No
- Guaranteed (money back if not on time): No

Have you contacted the person receiving the package and asked if it has arrived?

Especially when you print labels out online, tracking is iffy at times.

They used to print out bar codes on those online shipping labels, but now it is just the number, so I am guessing tracking might depend upon who handles package at local post office and if they enter updates into system.

It is also Christmas time, so shipments could be delayed, or it could be misdirected somewhere in system (in which case you need to contact someone at USPS (maybe try shipping from or shipping to post office and have an actual person try and track down where package is).

Actually it does show in progress, but only sometimes. It all depends on the postal workers and post office actually doing it.

There's no guarantee, and the tracking sucks. Call ahead to see if your box got there, because the tracking is often useless.
