USPS on-line label printing question

Just printed up a priority mail label from USPS website without postage (free DC that way) and wanted to know if it cares about the weight entered. It's a maxtor retail box HD, which is supposed to weigh 0.9 lbs for the bare drive, and then more for the box... I just said 2 lbs figureing that the weight isnt' encoded in that barcode. Anyone care to verify that belief?

Heh.. HD weights less than a pound, but when you use a full size maxtor retail box and padding, rings up as "under three pounds" =
$5.20 Priority. Cost of doing good business with a cheap HD.

hey how come the usps stations don't have those priority boxes? i go to the main one in west los angeles, and they ain't got squat! they do have some whack boxes that they charge for. wtf man I thought those boxes were free!

i ordered some boxes but they aren't coming for like two weeks. man i need to send out some shiz. where do i get boxes?

ask the person at the counter for the priority mail boxes , they should give you some, in certain locations, they just don't put them out on the counter

Yeah, I noticed the lack of priority boxes at my usps. Back in madison, WI, they had those things set up on the back wall. This one didnt' even have any "display models" around, must be a part of the cutbacks.
