USPS marked item as delivered

I just found out USPS marked one of my items as delivered but I never received it.

What's weird is that it was delivered yesterday on a Saturday as the Tracking said but it was a Saturday but I thought USPS don't deliver on Saturdays.

Does this usually happened?

I thought it would be in my mailbox.

Did the box say NEWEGG in big bold letters on the side with "MAY CONTAIN AWESOME" on the other sides suggesting valuable items?

Do you live in Harlem?

If you answered no to the above questions, it's probably still on the truck.

Nope and Nope

Why would it be there?

Whenever the driver hasn't made it to your house to deliver but, intends to deliver it the next day, it's left on the truck. The tracking system assumes it was delivered because it's on the truck to be delivered. It's happened several times to me.

It said it was delivered on a Saturday. The next two days are non-delivery day seeing as Monday is labor day.

I am stressing out about this!!!

Take a deep breath. As you've noted, the next delivery day is Tuesday. I'm sure you'll get it then. You have no other option right now anyway. Don't stress.

I just remember something. My mail is deliver to a community mailbox and I found a key inside my mailbox.

Anyone know what it is for?

/facepalm

There's probably some bigger boxes there, bigger than they typical mailbox, yes? The key will be to one of those (the ones here have tags with the matching box number). Your package will be in there.

There are two locks though. The key only fits one of the locks.

I had this happen with an Amazon order a couple of years ago. There is a street address almost the same as mine, but differs by one letter. I went to the annex where the carrier works out of. Item marked as delivered on a Saturday, but I sat watching TV in a room with the window having a clean shot at the mailbox--nothing was delivered.

The carrier said they delivered it, I pointed out the other address, and her boss directed her to go to the other address. The carrier said she went to the other address to make sure she hadn't mis-delivered, but that resident said the carrier never came--carrier was reprimanded and pulled from delivering mail.

I then called Amazon and they re-shipped the entire order with overnight delivery. I wasn't expecting them to do anything, really, and they went well beyond satisfying me as a customer with a purchase history. I've now had +10 years of mis-deliveries. Started because of the one-letter difference, but now the address can be quite different--carriers can no longer see, read, or deliver.

Ok the issue has been solved.

My item was in the parcel box.

Thank you anandtech.

Thank you for quickly resolving what was rapidly developing into an embarrassing self pawnage thread. Now we can all get back to making fun of Alke and dead people.

Call the post master for your local USPS branch and file a report with them. Contact the vendor that shipped you the item as well. Last time this happened, Amazon shipped me an item and USPS said it was delivered, even though it was a business address and I have people there from dawn to dust, so they're obviously lying. USPS ended up finding the package and redelivered the package to me.
