Since installing 9.10, i can access unsecured connections fine, but can never get through to my WPA encrypted home network, nor my work's WPA2 protected network.

Is there something i'm missing?

probably driver related. wpa and wpa2 work fine in linux if the driver supports the security method needed. i can use 9.04 and my netbook fine at home with wpa2.

hit up the ubuntu forums and see if this is a typical issue that has already been dealt with for 9.10 on your hardware.

worked out of the box for me on my dell 1545 with an intell 5100 wireless agn card...

I would check the ubuntu forums and post there...most likely a driver mix-up, which I wouldnt know where to start with...

Jumped over to ubuntu's forums and resolved the issue.

Installed wicd, which automatically removes the gnome network manager and takes over all network connections.

For anyone else who comes across this issue the code was:

apt-get install wicd

It'll install wicd and remove gnome. Restart and it works instantly.
