Using Verizon HTC Thunderbolt in Canada

Hey guys,

Work has given me a new HTC Thunderbolt and said "unlock it so we can test it"... So after some Googling maybe someone could answer these questions for me:

1) Rogers has rolled out LTE in Vancouver - can I SIM unlock the Thunderbolt so we can test the LTE functionality (CDMA EvDO LTE phone) for data connection.

2) Can this thing be used as some macabre hybrid of Rogers LTE and eg. Bell CDMA for voice?
