Using two wireless routers in one house for better coverage?

I just bought a 2nd linksys router because i was not getting full coverage within my house. I'm having problems getting my laptop to connect to my 2nd router.

So far i have set up the first router to have an ip set of 192.168.0.1XX and my second router to have an ip set of 192.168.0.2XX. Right now, I have one wired computer on each router and they are all working fine, but my laptop can only connect to the first router. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanksssss!!!!

You have 2 Linksys routers?? Are we talking about access points?

Let me use my crystal ball to figure out what routers you got...

what is 614+ and 524? I have never seen Linksys products in those model numbers?

You should buy a access point intead of the wireless router for the second unit. You first router already handles the NAT'ing, DHCP...etc duties. The second unit should be really only a wireless unit like the WAP54G.

Those are D-Link model numbers, not Linksys.
It's possible to make a wireless bridge between two Linksys WRT54G or WRT54GS routers but I haven't heard of anyone doing that with D-Link.
I don't know if they do WDS either, might want to check more online or call tech support.
