Using two power supplies?

How can I use an additional power supply to power my SLI set up? I have one in the case running all my drives and mobo, I would like to use an extra PSU to just power the SLI setup. How do I ground the PSU so it will turn on without being plugged into the MOBO?

ummm, the green and one other wire near the middle on the main power connector.. I forgot right now, cant remember where I found that info.

Basically, you *could* do this, but I would recommend against it, strongly. Just get a new PSU, and use that to power everything. A Silverstone Strider should do it. Its based on the 650W Zeus, but they downrated it because its modular, and uses a 120mm fan for cooling.

connect the green wire to a black (ground).

Be aware that running a PSU without load like this could blow it depending on the PSU.

You should really look into just a single PSU for this. Get a decent one and you're set.

I'm running all this on a $99 Hiper R series PSU:
2x 74gig raptors
1x 500gig drive
Dual core 4600
Dual core GPU (7950gx2 - 1gig memory)
2x optical drives
2x 1gig sticks of memory
CPU and 4x case fans
Cold cathode lighting
Several high load USB devices.
