Using TV as 2nd Monitor

I recently bought this TV http://www.samsung.com/au/products/tv/widescreencrt/ws_32z30he.asp

and I'm trying to hook it up to my PC so that I can watch movies or whatever off it. However, it doesn't seem to want to support the 1080i resolution it should, that is, when I select it through nvidia's TV CONFIG it just shows up on the TV as No Signal.

Oh I have a 7800gtx by the way, so i don't think that is the problem.

The highest I can get on the TV before it blacks out is 576p.
If i manually set the resolution to 1920x1080 it only shows a very small part of my normal screen which is running at 1280x1024 (LCD monitor)

So my questions are:

How can I get my TV to run a 1080i resolution off my pc? Do I need to buy anything else?

How would I go about doing this? I feel like I've tried everything.

Thanks

But there must be a way for me to get 1080i - It says so on the frigging TV:|

Quote: HDTV 1080i Ready

I don't care if I have to buy extra stuff aslong as in the end I can get that resolution, also if I have it set at 576p what resolution should I assign for it from my PC? Right now I've got 720x576 but some of the widescreen movies I have still have bars on the top and bottom.

Ive done this before with success. The main problem I encountered was that you need to have the full video card package installed. Once you have that you can adjust as neccessacry. Not sure about the catalyst drivers, so you could check. But make sure you have the taskbar icon for the vid car.

I've got the latest drivers for nVidia.

I'm going from S Video to HDTV (Red, Blue and Green connections).

I can adjust the resolution just fine now, it's just that it's not running in 1080i (I'm thinking I might need a set top box or something).

Also, is there anyway of giving my second monitor a different wall paper? (just so that it doesn't look out of size)

Svideo can't carry an HD signal...

No, but some video cards have an "S-Video-like" connection with a breakout cable for Component output. I wasn't aware that there were any 7800GTX's like that, but then again I haven't thoroughly researched the 7800 series since I don't have one. :p
