Using the Treo 700p as a broadband modem

I am looking for broadband wireless access.

I am debating between a dedicated PCMCIA broadband access card OR upgrading my current phone to a Treo 700p (and using a cable).

I like the idea of using the phone ... but wanted to know if I will receive calls when I am using it as a broadband modem.

Thanks

You can't on a 650, which is what I have. I'm pretty sure I heard that you can on a 700p.

I haven't used the Treo, but when I've used two different phones in "untethered" mode as modems for my laptop, they worked fine for receiving calls as well.

i thought you can use the 650...just need to upload a hack to the 650 (to enable DUN). there was a website dedicated to it as i read up on it just yesterday.

You can use the 650 as a modem, but it won't reliably receive calls while it's a modem.
