I just find it absurd that people are willing to pay big bucks to whack a ball around an otherwise nice park. Kudos to you for seeing through my lack of hand eye coordination, it's a good thing elves do all the work in my kitchen. I think when you grow up you'll find challenges that make a difference in the real world instead of just the barstool at the 19th hole.

Sorry top chef...you don't understand the game. And that's fine. Those that actually maintain a handicap understand.

Then again my career wouldn't be the same without learning to play golf...pretty much why I started in the first place (connections, opportunity, relationship building, etc), and I'm thankful I recognized that early.

Makes me wonder how many of the 'financial wizards' who got us into the current mess play golf?

I ran that through the Babelfish "internet loser to English" translation software and it came back:

"I tried to play golf and got beat by a 10 year old girl".

Even 10 year old girls know when to come in out of the rain. Something few golfers have ever learned.

I caddied at a private club when I was a kid. It taught me that the walk between holes was the best part of golf and a 5 iron is smarter than your average golfer.

isn't caddy one step below bagger for someone not trying to get green time?

Ooh, way to put down a 14 year old kid working to make a buck. I'll have to remember that one.

ROFL. You just keep making the same point. You tried to do it and you failed miserably. So rather than manning up and blaming your own lack of hand-eye coordination you blame the game instead. Keep whining, those of us that have learned to hit the ball and appreciate challenges beyond cheating at solitaire will keep laughing at you.

It's all about ones perspective, I find it absurd to waste time hiking when I could be whacking a ball around and having fun! :)

Magnus is of the mindset where the pasttimes of the rich = why the country is a mess.

Not at all. I'm of the mindset that the type of people who find golf an enjoyable pastime, are just as likely to fuck up our country for personal profit and 'bragging rights.'

Not all golf takes place on exclusive country club courses between rich executives. Most in fact is played by ordinary folk who just like playing golf, wtf is so hard to understand about that.

Utter crap. Anyone that doesn't play golf is simply neutral about it. They don't play, they don't care and they don't talk about it. Anyone with this sort of venom and hatred for the game tried it, failed and spends the rest of his life crying about it. No, wait, let me rephrase that: EVERYONE with this sort of venom and hatred for the game tried it, failed and spends the rest of his life crying about it. Period. It's that simple, the only people who truly hate certain games are those who have tried them and were too inept to continue.

Bwahahahahaha. I don't hate the game, I just think its silly as are the people who play it. Just tuck yourself in and dream of wearing a green jacket. That'll show me :)

First of all, I think you using the phrase "I'm of the mindset..." to be unbelievably hilarious. Your inane blatherings in this thread prove that your mindset is nothing but that of an ill-educated buffoon.

Some facts in simple terms that hopefully your tiny brain can digest:

70% of the golf courses in the US are public access.
90% of the rounds played in the US are at public access courses.
The median price of a round of golf is $34.

Do yourself a favor and if there are any subjects you know anything about go and play in those threads. Here you're just getting your ass kicked.

I don't even golf and know this. I once got challeged/dragged out by some chicks dad to a putting range and won then went off with her and banged her insane. I didn't call her again. That was too much work.

In today's society you have golfers, boaters and bikers really...in the end it doesn't really matter if you are performing.

edit...90% of games is probably the ghetto bunch though..not really a statistic when the top 1% can waste more than 90% of the money though. Here in Palm Beach we have public golf courses built on land fills way inland and bordered by farms, housing and swamp.

For those that can afford golf, they want more of a view.

What's the difference between the golfers and the boaters? In my experiences the golfer and boater crowd tend to overlap a lot. Or did I just fail at reading comprehension?
