Using TACube's Proxy...

I am trying to setup my Dnet client to flush to the TACube proxy... I have added the 2 extra lines into the Networking section of my ini file... however, I just wanna make sure, even though I am flushing to TACube's proxy, I still use rc5@tacube.com as the e-mail address, right?

Thanks!

Also how do I know which hostname is mine? My guess is that it's the one from my ISP... then how come the top hostname is 192.168.*?

192.168.* is a special set of IPs for refering to a local network. Those one's happen to be Russ's Crack-Rack, which has been running much longer than everyone else has been able to flush to the pproxy.

Your hostname is most likely your ISP, but I have seen some strange ones that are hard to recognize.

If the proxy link to the internet is port forwared (or masqueraded in any way), the address can show up as a 192.168.x.x as this is usually used by computers behind NAT (a method used by some routers, etc. to share a connection to the internet on one IP address among several).

Yeah that's why I am wondering about the 192.168.* address.... cuz my PC is behind a Linux router, which connects to the internet thru a cable modem... I was wondering if I stats are being added to the 192.168.* hostname...

Also one last question, how often are the stats on that page updated?

No, thats not quite how it works. Your stats will appear with the hostname that the router uses to connect to the internet or one that your ISP assigns to you (which will not be in the 192.168.x.x network).

As to how often the stats are updated, only one person can answer that question. 'Take me to your leader'

sciencewhiz is correct. That address is my shop. It flushes to my secondary pproxy, which in turn flushes to the public pproxy. The secondary is on a LAN address.

Yours will not show up as a 192 address, but rather whatever your ISP has assigned as your WAN (external) address. Stats are updated every 30 minutes at 0 and 30.

Thanks for hosting that site Russ. Made the switch on the 20th and I'm in 14th place for now. Pretty neat. What do the green numbers next to the rating mean? Previous rating?

Green is up, and red is down for movement in the rankings. They don't really seem to work correctly, though.

So you're the Fatdog sniffing my Celeron500's butt! :p

Probably not for long, I cannot compete with you guys. But wait til I get my K7T Turbo-R and pop my 1GHz Tbird in there and start o/c it. :)

Swapping my 750 classic to the 950 t-bird, my rate went from 2.52 to 3.32. My K7pro with the 64 clock gen won't overclock, so I'm on the lookout for one with the 110 clock on it. Then look out. :)

Yeah Russ thanks for hosting that proxy!

I have been cracking RC5 for TA Cube for a couple of months now, but since I flush directly to Dnet I have no way of checking my own stats and see how much I am contributing to the team... Now I know! And this make things a lot more interesting!

No, actually the thanks goes to all you guys! First, for joining Team AnandTech. But, also for being so patient while I climbed that steep learning curve to get my server setup and ready to use.

EDIT: Now if I could only learn to type.
