Just the speakers so far. They shipped within 24 hours of ordering. The reciever is backordered 2 weeks :( . I have the bluegears as well. Although after reading I think maybe Pro logic IIx may have done the surround for gaming for me but this way I'm doubly covered. I still have to buy cable and all yet. It's pure torture looking at the speakers. Man that was some significant package. I was pretty excited to get the 503 instead of the 502. I got the 503 for 179.00 Including shipping refurbished. (ecost)7.1
It's a light weight I know but it should serve my purpose. I can always save up to get bigger better if needs be.
This week I have to step up my video card as it's the last week I can do so.eVGA 7800GTX KO here I come! The following week Sub & cables/connectors from dayton
Hopefully it will all come together as my Onkyo shows up. Thanks again ! , Vektor

Wooooooo! You have a better setup than I do..but that isn't saying much.

I hope I haven't offended. My sig is a bit over the top but I'm so used to asking questions and then being asked to provide details about my system that I automatically put it all in my sig. I have you to thank for the sound idea or else I'd be listening to the z-5500 right now. Text is so tricky I don't know whether your being sincere or sarcastic...lol Sincere I hope. Oh btw I've found the TX-SR502 @ ubid for 119.00 !

I'm very happy with my system on my tiny bidget I think I did fairly well. There is oh so much more...just no more $$$$ :~) This thread has been a tremendous help to me
I basically bought the system you laid out verbatim. Thanks

Also Ecost has been kind of a nightmare. Due to some "glitch" in their system shortly after ordering, my very meager checking account began to be drained as they proceeded to triple authorize the 179.00. While the money wasn't actually removed I was effectively blocked from using it. Ecost has definately been my worst online shopping experience to date.

Actually YoYo...MDF is extremely inexpensive as an enclosure type. It's actually pretty much bottom of the barrel : P

It's just the industry "standard", as in more or less the "minimal standard," above plastic and chipboard.

Plywood, baltic birch plywood, aluminum are all better enclosure types although cost is obviously much higher. Athena...a bargin bin brand..recently moved to plywood and their Audition brand lost about 1/3 of its weight...and still managed to get better ; )

Where did I say MDF was great? I don't remember saying that.

I could see myself saying it was better than the construction on most computer speakers though...

I now have my reciever and speakers as well as the Bluegears soundcard and am running into a few issues. I began a new thread regarding this or else we can continue here. I didn't know which would be more appropriate. Regards , Vektor
