Using LCD monitor with DTV converter box

I have an extra Samsung LCD monitor with built-in speakers and VGA and DVI port. I'm wondering if I can use a DTV converter box to watch TV on this monitor. Basically, I'm looking for a VGA to RCA (yellow and/or red, white) adatper. There are many on sale online but they're designed for outputing signal from PC's to TV, the other way around. Have anyone tried this out and got it working? And do I need just the one with video (yellow) connector or also the audio (white/red)?

That's not a conversion that can be made without a powered converter that actively converts between the two formats. A better option would be to look for a HDTV tuner. They're a bit rarer now but you might still be able to find the Samsung around some places.

yea thats not a simple conversion.

money will be spent better doing it the right way. whether its getting a pc tuner card, a lcd tv or a set top tuner😛

You guys are right. It won't work that way. I guess I'll have to get an USB tuner and use the monitor along with my laptop.
