is this possible? will any laptop accept the output from the video card of a desktop?

i wanna do this because i want to get a laptop to carry around, but at the same time keep the storage capacity of my desktop (160gb)...but also get rid of my monitor which is a pain to move (from apt to apt, currently still in college).

any replies appreciated.

The simple answer is: no.

It would take too much money and hard labor to get it to work. It's easier to just buy another LCD monitor for your desktop.

how about using an external enclosure? you slap in a HDD and plug it into your usb port. best if you have usb 2.0 or firewire. or you could get yourself a usb2.0 or firewire pccard. of cours eyou could also get an external drive (HDD + enclosure).

you could always get one of those virtual desktop programs like "pc anywhere" or what not...
