Using iPod with PC question

Problem:

Two teenagers, two iPods, one computer.

Is there a way to setup two unique iPod profiles on the same computer? Apparently, my friend can't get her kid's iPod software to recognize each of their iPods uniquely and download different music genres, or something. Here is her email:

"Do you know if and how to have two Ipods on one computer? Both kids have Ipods but because [the girl] installed her iPod first, her song list will download to her Ipod, but [the boy's] music taste is totally different and he wants different music."

I have no idea what she is talking about because I've never used an iPod.

If they are on a computer with Win 2000/XP she could set up two different profiles-- one for each child. Then just make sure their Itunes libraries point to each child's Music folder.

Any other options? Does the iPod software support multiple profiles and/or more than one library?

Should be able to work without any problems. iTunes will support up to 5 iPods and will manage their playlists and synchronizing seperately.

She should get a drop down menu in the options screen for the iPods she should be able to select each iPod independantly.

If that doesn't work she can try setting it to manually manage the iPod, then just create two seperate playlists to load manually onto the iPods.
