I've finally found a pretty good deal on an external USB hard drive with 3 year warranty. (it needs no power, other than the USB)
My system has a pci card with an internal USB hookup, so I found myself wondering if I could just stick the drive in my case, hook it up to the USB, and use it as an internal primary hard drive that way, without voiding the drive's warranty.
Has anyone else ever done this? It would be for a games pc for my kids, and they tend to play older games and casual games.
