I have an Mitsubishi 48"projection tv a few years old. Excellent picture using cable box for HD programing via component cables . Question is all the new HD dvd players use HDMI
for best picture qualiy. If instead I purchase an upconverting DVD player for 1080P it states best quality using HDMI.

Would a DVI to HDMI converter be ok to use? Or would the component cables be better?
TV has only one DVI input. Using coaxial/optical for audio to receiver so sound is not an issue.

Thanks

DVI and HDMI carry the exact same signal, so you wouldn't lose any quality at all using a DVI->HDMI cable.

For upconverting DVDs you WILL need a digital interface. No upconverting via component since the copyright fags got a dick in their ass.

You can watch HD movies with component however.
