Using an original Ninja on a Q6700 worth it?

So I am about to start overclocking my Q6700 and was wondering if the original Scythe Ninja with a 120mm fan I have laying around would be enough.

I would like to get up to 3.2GHz but will most likely be heat limited. I would need to buy new mounting hardware and upgrade the fan on it anyways for roughly $20. Would it be better to just go for a Tuniq or some equivalent?

System Specs:
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L
Intel Q6700
4 GB Kingston DDR2 800
EVGA 8800GT
Antec P180 Rev 1.1

G0 or B3 QX6700? Because if it's the latter you will have a very hard time with this cooler. The mounting is HORRID! If you change to through bolt mounting it's definitely better. The pushpin mount is absolutely horrible with this cooler and severely limits its performance. A Tuniq or TRUE will be better on a B3. At 1.5V and 3.6GHz, the TRUE is the only viable solution outside of water.

my Q6700 is G0. I was under the impression that all were but meh, i checked mine anyways.

Yeah... the whole push pin thing is kind of odd and the ninja weighs a ton compared to a stock heatsink.

Shrug, like i said i need to get new mounting for it if i use it. I may try using a backplate and give it a shot.

Push pin mounts are fine if you can get it right the first few times, after a few mountings they tend to start becoming a PITA. My scythe made me bleed a few times-one time excessively-when trying to remount in case.....

I guess it all depends on how much of an OC you want on it. If you only want a low to mid level overclock, then ya, get the mounting brackets for the Ninja since it was a good cooler or go for a new mid level cooler like the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro. If you want to really push it to the max, then get a Tuniq or TR-UE or any of the other top end coolers.
