Using an old computer as an ICS host

Well thanks to the person in this thread, I figured out that since i dont have a router(only a switch) i still need a computer to share the internet with the rest of my network.

My question is, i have an old Pentium 200mhz (72mb ram) computer sitting here at home collecting dust, and I want to know if it is possible to get it to share the internet with the rest of my network. I don't think windowsxp will run on this computer so is there anything else i can run on it, like linux?

Also, is this 200mhz computer going to be fast enough to serve as an internet gateway for my network?
thanks

thank you SO much. That linux distro looks like it is EXACTLY what i want and will run on my old machine. I will give it a try.
Have a great day.

FWIW, i ran Win98SE on a 486 way back when as a strictly ICS machine, worked excellent, surprisingly stable, easy to set up... let us know how the smoothwall install goes for you...i might be interested in switching over
