Using an External Hard drive for Video Games

Is there a performance hit if I do this? I am using USB 2.0. Lower frame rates? Or just slower loading times?

OHH bad idea ya there will be slower loading times! Why would you even think of doing that? Do you not have sata? Even IDE would be a better idea than external at usb 2.0 speeds. Just get yourself a nice cheap sata hardrive and put it in your case. If you don't have the room in your case then I am sure you could change one of the other hardrives to a new bigger one. The prices on hardrives have realy come down.
