Using amphetamines

Today is my first time I've ever tried Adderall. I got a 20 mg tablet from a friend of mine, and this stuff makes me think on an entirely different level. I feel like I can do anything, or be anyone. I get easily sidetracked when doing assignments, but this time, there's nothing that can stop me. I have just written 2 pages of my senior exit project without stopping or letting anything get in my way. I've always been pretty smart, but I've felt it very tough to be motivated about school. There have been times where, even if the paper was due the next morning, I could not feel any sense of urgency where I felt the need to complete it.

I can finally see how kids not as smart as I am could receive better grades in school. I don't know if I have ADD or not, but I can now see how amphetamines would really increase your ability to complete a task. I know there are a lot of jokes out there about people using adderall, and how they can focus on something very small for a long period of time. This stuff makes me think on an entirely different level, like a philosopher. Currently I can only think about my lack of trying in high school, and I can only imagine where I'd be if I could function like this on a day-to-day basis. School is easy for me as it is, and if I could complete the homework required for these classes, I would have an even higher GPA. I am sorry for wasting your time with this post, but no one is home right now and I felt a need to express these thoughts to someone else.

If you have any problems at school focusing or completing your homework, even if you think it's just you being lazy, this stuff will help. My GPA was high last quarter, I've got As in Physics AP and Calc AP without taking it, but the barrier that the medication eliminates can enable me to do homework for classes I don't even care about. Again I apoligize for the length of this message, but I just had to get it off my chest.

Re-read what you've written on the adderal when you are 'sober', and see if it really is good material, or if your capacity to judge and self-edit is reduced on the speed.

I find your post to be very interesting. Maybe I'll try some. 🙂

lol, that's a speed induced, been awake whole night, brain is tired but still stimulated, feels a strong need to communicate with people, post if I've ever read one.

get some sleep 😉

do you believe in the law of diminishing returns? keep taking that stuff and bring up this topic again in half a year.

OP: thanks for the post. I think what you wrote adequately describes what I have read about that drug. I have always been looking for first hand cases from people who are not prescribed the drug but use it. I have read that ADD or not, aderol will increase your concentration and focus. Something which the majority of people lack. I for one am easily distracted and have been diagnosed with ADD but have never been medicated. When i was younger it was very difficult for me to concentrate but my parents refused to medicate me. I got in trouble, started fires, vandalized, skipped school, whatever, my only saving grace was that I was naturally bright and caught on quickly. I have always wondered what it would be like to be on a drug that would actually allow me to concentrate on something for more than a few minutes. I have learned to cope with these problems over time. I can only work for 5-10 minutes without doing something else. It makes me distracted, but I just try to work on 5-6 different things at the same time (usually unrelated like writing a paper, drawing something, surfing the web, building something; the key is to keep busy for me). I have been able to eventually succeed in academics because of the freedom i was given to structure my time and focus independently (got my PhD in Neuropathology and am going on to Med school now). I very much envy the myopic focus that people get with adderol, but I often wonder if it would remove my multi-tasking ability (not to mention my high-energy bouncing off the walls behavior). Tell me this: in your experience do people change (behavior, mood, or personality-wise) when on aderol like they do when they are on ridalin?

He might not have to wai that long.
"On Thursday, Canadian regulators pulled Adderall XR, a stimulant used to treat patients with ADHD, from shelves after a report linked 20 sudden deaths and a dozen strokes to the drug. Many of the cases involved children."

Yikes.
I so much for drug-induced control of the masses.
