Trying to figure out how I could literally write an email. Actually, I just need to include my signature. I have my tablet up and ready to go, but can't figure out how to write. Maybe need to get a different email client (using ole' windows outlook right now) or some additional software. Going through Gmail. Would rather be able to actually write directly into outlook(or whatever email client), instead of making a blank photoshop canvas, signing my name in it, and attaching the picture of my signature to the email. Can anyone help me out real quick? Thanks.

ps. Also have wanted to use my tablet when instant messaging sometimes...I think one of the clients does it. Not Trillian though apparently.

write it in paint?
Are you looking to keep your handwriting or converting it to ACSII text?

know that msn will let you draw. we use tablets at work and use the msn messenger and have a lot of fun with that. i believe you need the tablet pc input panel to insert that. it should be hidding in the side of your screen somewhere and when you mouse over it, it pops out for you to draw on. if it is not there you may have to add it through the add/remove programs -> windows components. in vista it is all there, on xp i am not sure.

I disabled that feature you're talking about phreaqe, but can enable it again. How would it help me write in emails though? Can't just write something in there and drag it over to the email can i?

when i used it is acts as a middle man. the programs themselves dont knwo how to accept the input from the pen. but the panel lets you inset it into any applications. for example if i wanted to do a google search firefox does not know how to interpret my handwriting. using the input panel i can select the text field on google page and then pop out the input panel write whatever i want and it will convert it to text and then put it into the search panel.

My HP tablet (XP) doesn't have that feature that I know of. The iPaq did but my handwriting is so bad the iPaq never learned my gestures.

This works fine in outlook 2007. Click 'Start Inking' on the ribbon.

I guess looking now it's actually just "windows mail" and not outlook. Came with Vista by default.

Unfortunately I don't think there is any easy way to write directly into an email. I use OneNote 2007 to keep my scribblings and it has an option to email. I assume it converts the inking to graphics file and attaches to an email. I haven't tried it yet since I'm haven't had the chance to go and look for my license key to activate Outlook 2007. I looked at Windows Mail and couldn't find any option for tablets.

Oddly enough, after I got a tablet, I realized that Microsoft did a lot of tablet integration. Other operating systems and software don't really support tablet features as much. I hope tablet features become more standard as they become cheaper and more popular.
