Using a laptop monitor for a desktop

Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this?
I have an old compaq armada laptop that is totally outdated. Is there any practical way to use the screen as a desktop monitor?

The short answer is nope. If you want the longer answer I think there have been some threads on this in the past here or in GH. Google would probably have some info to. The main problem is the specialized connections that laptop LCDs have. You probably could do it, it would just take way more time/effort then myself and most people consider worth it.
