I got one of those ice chests with a frig unit inside. The kind you plug into a cigarette lighter. I want to pull the frig parts out and use them to cool the reservoir of a cpu water cooling system. Obviously i have some things to watch out for:
1. The condensation on the evaporator coils and the water reservoir.
2. Condensation on the water tubing itself.
3. The lifespan of the frig parts. It isnt made to run 24/7
I can insulate the tubing, but with what? I can install a thermostat on the unit, to only turn on at certain temps. And I can isolate and insulate the frig parts to keep condensation out of the PC. Yes, i do plan to mount the frig stuff inside the case.
So is there anything i missed? What else should I look out for, or be concerned about? Any input is appreciated.
