We have licenses and VLK's for both Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, but we do not have an official XP Service Pack 2 Slipstreamed and Server 2003 Service Pack 1 Slipstreamed disc. Noting that the Microsoft discs say "do not make illegal copies", is it fine if we make our own slipstreamed discs and use them? Or does that violate the EULA? (too lazy to read it)

Danke.

Yes, it's legal to make your own slipstreamed CDs. So long as you have licensing for the machines you stick it on.

This isnt as much of a guide as it is a program. AutoStreamer

Also note, AutoPatcher.

Enjoy! :D

Edit: thx spy!

It doesn't get any easier than AutoStreamer. Stick in your Windows CD, point the program to your Service Pack File, and a few minutes later, you have the ISO for your install disc with all updates integrated.

This Tweaks for Geeks guide works perfectly if you want to do it manually.

Bart's Page for making bootable CDs including slipstreamed versions

Follow those instructions precisely - it says for XP SP1 but the instructions work for any Windows OS from Win2K and up. You'll not only create the slipstreamed installer files but you'll also be able to add a bit more useful stuff like perhaps drivers, updates, etc, on the space leftover on the ISO.

Also, using Bart's method and the two tiny .zip files you download from him does the burning for you - no extra burning software is required.

I've made over 100 CDs using this method over the years. It just works.
