Using 5.1 system on a dfi nf4 computer

i have this 5.1 surround speaker set from Edifier (i'm in Malaysia), and a dfi nf4 ultra system to plug it in. The Realtek chip (using on-board audio), does it even support 5.1 surround? And if so, where do i plug in the cables from the set?

I have these cables:

-input of left and right audio signal
-input of surround audio signal
-input of central and heavy-bass audio signal

Whenever I plug one into the sound input jack those speakers will work, but they won't work in any other jack. Do i have to use the SPDIF jacks or something?

thanks.. and I hope my issue is clear. 🙂

Did you install the drivers for the integrated sound?

I think it should have a utility program to allow you to change settings. Make sure you have it set up for 5.1 operation.

Also, check Windows sound options and make sure you have 5.1 selected.

You don't have to mess with the SPDIF jacks. You should be able to reassign the three normal output jacks to 5.1 duty.

I don't think i have 3 normal jacks.. like I said only one of them actually output sounds when i test it out. I did set the nvidia drivers to 5.1 usage in NVidia Mixer.. is there anything else I can do?

I tested the speakers when they are all plugged in correctly (checked the mobos' manual to know which ones) and they do work when i test them with the software's setup wizard.. but otherwise they do not work. It's weird. :/

I don't have that program u just showed.. in fact there's only the speaker wizard i just mentionned with NVMixer, nothing else.. is there something i can download elsewhere?

thanks

Wait, so they work when you do something like where it says "Front Left" out the front left one etc.?

If so, what are you using to test if they work otherwise? Music will only come out of two speakers unless you select a setting that would send the signal to all the speakers.
