To my understanding, Z87 mobos are DualChannel Ram.
So if I use 4 memory slots, how does that work? I understand that it does work but I'm talking from a performance standpoint.
I have 8 GB of ram in Dual Channel but if I add 8 more GB in the other 2 slots then is access to that ram slower than my first set of 8 GB ram?
Not sure if I explained my question well but if someone could explain to me what happens when I have 16GB of ram across 4 slots in a Z87 mobo that'd be great. Some good ram deals on slick deals today and I want to surprise my brother with a Christmas present of an SSD with the combo deals going on.
