Using 4 memory channels on an Abit IP35 Pro

Upgrading my computer with an IP35 Pro, Q6600, 8800GT and 4x1gb sticks of 1066 5-5-5-12 RAM.

Will there be any compatability issues doing this? Will I gain performance in using 4 sticks vs 2 matched?

Also, will a good 600w PSU handle all this fine(non o/c)?

I would use only high quality 1.8V DDR2 800 RAMs. The Kingston N5 RAMs work very well with Abit IP35 boards at default 1.8Vdimm. I'd go with Antec Earthwatts 500.

I agree with Serpent but I'd suggest the Corsair 450VX instead.

I prefer 120mm fans for cooling and less noise. Had a OCZ PowerStream PSU that has a pair of 80mm fans. It started out quiet but over time the fans got noisy.

Earthwatts runs very cool under load (+80% efficiency). The ADDA 80mm fan is above average in quality and should provide many years of trouble-free service.

I would go with the Corsair or Seasonic - the newer ones are more efficient. The Earthwatts is a fine, efficient psu - I have to 380s - but they are noisy. No quality-psu with an 80mm fan can be as quiet as one with a 120mm fan - probably something to do with physics. I suppose noise is in the ears of the beholder. I've been spoiled with the one's with 120mm fans - damn you Corsair and Seasonic.

Nice build, KeDaHa. That will draw ~150w at idle and ~275 at load depending on the number of hd's. Using the 70% psu rule gives 400-450w max necessary - from a quality psu with sufficient 12v rails.

You wouldnt know of any incompatibilities with that Corsair PSU and the ABIT mobo? I read in some places that the higher powered Corsair PSU's had isolated problems with the ABIT. I'm also looking to build a similar computer to this...
