using 2 credit cards to make a paypal purchase?

is it possible to use 2 credit cards for 1 purchase when buying an item off ebay thru paypal? will i still get buyer protection with this?

its not maxing it out, i want to split the cost on 2 cards so i dont have one large balance on 1.
