I've already tried it on a dead Duron.

Unfortunately I broke the damned thing. (a dead broke processor... I wonder how many uses - no.)

Note to self: Switch off hammer action next time.

same here, had a few 386 cpu's and i tried drilling it, wouldn't go... need a drill press

I took six dead processors and glued them together using JB Weld and made a cube from them. I have them at work, and toss them when I am debugging stuff or working on something that actually takes thought.

here's where you can get diamond drill bits you need

It's not that expensive.

.11"/2.7mm twist bit is $5 ea

$8.50 for 5mm core bit (5,000-20,000RPM)

I'm pretty certain you'll need a steady drill press to use the core bit though.
