Out of curiousity... wanted to know from you guys, whether or not you have experienced any problems (crahes?) using the cracked/beta/warez version of Windows XP.

I have a friend who d/l'ed Windows XP Pro from a warez site, and a couple of months after installation, his computer completely froze and he had to do a new installation of his OS. I told him he should just go out there and buy it... the guy just wouldn't listen😉😀

hmm, wonder how many with cracked versions are going to reply on a public forum!

I'm in total agreement. 🙂

<< i have experienced no problems. i dont know why somebody would go out and buy it when they can get it for free. >>

uhm, morals?

This never happens with retail versions of MS software....😉

Because your stealing...

i bought the retail version of the home edition, but never bothered to opened it. i use "beta & cracked" version because i change hardware out of my system a few times each week.

My ware-zed copy of XP is working perfectly fine here in prison. No problems whatsoever.

there is a story floating around about how microsoft incorperated bugs into their updates for xp like they did for the office program which would cause the lockup as you stated

you might want to check that out😉

and for using pirated software

Imho it sucks that so many people have to pay extra just so some people can walk away with out paying a dime!

and i hope that future lock-ups find your friend going to a software store (where you buy legal versions)
so he can support the company/companies that work so hard for his/her enjoyment.

plus if he/she got a legal copy you wouldn't be here trying "to help a friend" instead you'd be at microsoft
updates page getting free help (the reason they have support pages for those who pay)

i believe the term is tech support .

and good luck with future updates/lockups as this will become the norm as security restrictions become tighter and tighter

on a side note:
i wonder if people like this is/are the reason for the new wave of smart media they are trying so hard to get passed that stop computer components from allowing access to files that are copyrighted

while this may seem cool now ask yourself is it really worth the long-term affect to the computer industry?

ok i am shutting up now and have a great day hope ya learned a thing or two c-ya

no one in their right mind would answer this if they have an illegal version. it's all about paying for it. unless microsoft gives it to you.

it is people like this that steal software that now have us all having to go through the annoyance of game requiring us to put the cd in everytime. if people could be trusted then this type of security feature would not be necessary.

Well only once in the evening, but it's not due to Windows. They let us use some really cool black and white striped wallpaper as well. I enjoy the big, fast T-1 connection that the taxpayers have to pay for.

I like getting things for free at the expense of others. <leet haxor voice>Isn't that why warez rulez???</leet haxor voice>

BTW Gog, I'm sure you have a "friend". How do you feel about your friend increasing the cost of Windows for you???
