I've been going through the old threads regarding news providers, and these guys seem to pretty good, and fairly cheap.

So does anyone use this service (usenet-access.com), and are there any other cheap but good services out there? I used to subscribe to Giganews, but it is wayyyyyyyyyyy expensive.

I use easynews.com for all my binary needs. $10 for 6GB of bandwidth... I spend most of that on mp3s and vcds. Speed is excellent (no download speed limit) if you're willing to put up with 6GB of bandwidth before you have to re-up your account.

So far I have tried Supernews, Usenetserver, and am currently using Easynews. In my experiences to date they all work good for a while then suddenly start going downhill. I just do month to month now so when they do start going downhill it is easy to make a switch.

i've used newsguy, supernews, and airnews.

supernews was dropped after it raised it's prices last year. but it's fast, despite the limited download\upload capacity per month

newsguy is slow, but it gets %99.99999 of threads. they have since limited download\upload per day by 50% to 500MB a day. it's slow though.

airnews allows unlimited download\upload, but you pay for the speed.

i am going to give easynews and usenetserver a try, i've been meaning to do so...

My favorite so far has been supernews.com. Very fast and reliable, but once they changed their prices and refused to grandfather me in with them, I had to switch over. I am currently using newsfeeds.com and usenet.co (exactly same provider) and they stink. I bought into them a while ago and am still looking for the fastest provider that has all .binaries. groups. Anyone know this could be?
