Just look at my sig. You prolly think I'm 100% retarded. I know my rig won't over clock to amazing speeds or get incredible performance boost in games...but I support/love AMD and I wanted a Quad core setup FROM AMD. It will perform more than well enough for all of the new games. I don't need to get 32534573734436 FPS and be running at 4+GHz to be satisfied with my setup. Not EVERYTHING is about video game frame rates and overclocking.
I'm more interested in keeping my rig for a while and upgrading it with better stuff as the months go by. Hopefully AMD brings out a big dog Phenom and I will only need to upgrade my CPU. Longevity was my main concern, not overclocking and framerates. As for the OP topic; dual core vs quad core. The simple answer is, people do other things than gaming that will utilize every single piece of a quad core RIGHT NOW.
