LOL!
Physics taught me that water cannot be "wasted"... it merely changes states.

I'm with you. A good shower is something to be enjoyed, not simply to cleanse the dirt from oneself. My normal shower is more like 15-20 minutes, though. If I hurry I can get it down to 10.

Who the heck has a 4gpm showerhead anyway. Don't most places these days have water restrictions that keep you from locally buying something that high?

The first thing I do when I move into a new place is put a high flow shower head in.

Makes my showers quicker when I'm in a hurry, and more relaxing when I'm not.

And don't get me started on low flow toilets. What used to take 1 flush now takes 3-4. Yeah... that's saving water!

Yeah, what are you people doing in there?

My showers usually last right at 15 minutes.
But: While I am in the shower, I also brush my teeth and then shave. That way when I get out, I dry off, splash after shave, deodorant, and I'm done!
Uses more water, but saves time.

I was kind of thinking the same thing. Corn comes out the way it went in. Undigested.

When I get up in the morning, I'm usually in the bathroom for no more than 15 minutes, and that includes shaving, showering, getting dressed, combing my hair, etc. I just don't see (or don't want to see) what people that spend 15 minutes in the shower are doing.

I'm usually done getting showered, shaving and brushing my teeth within 15 mins, WTF is the point of a 15 min shower?

Only time I'll take a long shower is if I'm sick with a cold and thats just because the steam helps clear me out.

:) Hopefully I never have to worry about "saving" water...
My own well here, and plans for a million or so gallon pond, but I still don't take 15 minute showers

I thought all showerheads had that 2.5gpm thingy on them.

Who takes a 15 minute shower anyway? 10 minutes seems long to me.

How the hell is 15 minutes an average shower... does that mean a significant # of people take LONGER showers? holy crap! RIDICULOUS.

I can't even imagine what I'd do in the shower for 15 minutes. Because unless I'm using my feet to wash myself, there's no way it takes that long to apply shampoo and soap.

I am a female and my average shower is about 10-15 mins. I shave and wash my hair, which is long(middle of my back) and thick When my hair was longer I took about a 20 minute shower. I donated 12 inches to locks of love and it cut back my shower time by about 5 mins.

Makes sense. Last month I used 619 gallons of water a day.

Incredible.

15 minute shower?

Yeah, 15 when I'm by myself - that shower stays on for as much as 2-3 HOURS when it gets a little more crowded in there, though.

Bah, last month my bill was for 41,000 gallons. But that counts filling a swiming pool. :)

No kidding, I hate those.

Though proper design is key...you run into some toilets that always get EVERYTHING down the first time, but don't use much water, and then some that use a lot of water but can't seem to get everything...don't they test these things? Guess not.
