Never heard of em, but the car looks pretty cool. Can't imagine it being too practical though.

yes, that Mosler is SWEET!

:Q

its Corvette-derived, which makes it even better! Its got the Corvette LS1 engine, and many other Vette parts.. even the side mirrors and doorhandles are straight off the Corvette

valhalla, You really dont care about performance, do you? Its all looks. I would be embarassed to drive that thing if i didnt get that chevy V8 at the same output as a lamborghini. I would consider that car rice, unless someone can prove it hits 210mph.

my opinion...

EDIT: top speed on the V8 is 175. I think, if you want a lamborghini, get one, dont get a ripoff.

cool, K-mart Lamborghini :)..

---
I personally will never hit 90mph, let alone 210mph. The car is more of an attention getter than a race car.

However, I am sure some people will replace the lear logo with a Lamborghini logo and try to sell it to someone for $100,000 (perhaps someone in the hot deals forum?).

lol.. are you kidding? I don't care about performance, only about looks? HA!
obviously you've never read ANY car thread I've posted in, because everyone else accuses me of only caring about performance and NOT looks! You moron! I push the fbody as BAR-NONE the best bang for the buck sports car in the WORLD, even though it may not be the prettiest car (Camaro anyway, the Firebird/Trans Am fbody is a beautiful car IMO). I push the Corvette Z06 because its RAPES any stock car in performance uder $75,000, and its under $50,000.

I BASH ricer japomobiles because they have stupid body kits and spoilers to make them look "better" but perform like sh!t.

so how can you say I only car about looks?

this car has a 367hp Chevy V8.. and it costs $38,000! Thats less than a new C5 Corvette Coupe, and it has more horsepower! It will rape any of your ricer econosh!t 150hp cars! and looks good at the same time!

what are you smoking?? why do people have to make sh!t up just to try and flame me because they don't like the cars I do.

I thought a kit car was a bunch of crappy fiberglass body panels that you slap on an existing car? like they used to make ferrari kits for Pontiac Fiero's. my buddy is building a kit Hummer, put the body panels over a truck frame..

this is a handbuilt production car, not a kit with "some assembly required" . carbon fiber interior.. factory warranty, etc.

<< EDIT: top speed on the V8 is 175. I think, if you want a lamborghini, get one, dont get a ripoff. >>

oh damn.. ONLY 175? :disgust: No way, thats not enough for me.. I'll fork over the other half-million so I can go the extra 30mph, because you know how often everyone goes in excess of 175mph, thats just unacceptable.

:disgust: :|

A kit car is a car made up and put on a tube frame or another manufacturers frame, with another manufacturers drivetrain. What you are referring to is just body mods.

Most kit cars use VW body pans, or late model Corvette suspension.

That's what I thought too Valhalla, but when I search for "lear 2000" I get a lot of car sites that have a link to the Lear 2000 site listed under "kit cars". Although they do have to be making money somewhere, $38K seems low for a hand-built car with a V6, GM warranty and a bunch of features.

Also, you can order the kit for the Lear 2000 unassembled and assemble it yourself, does that make it "kit car" enough for you?

iamwiz: anyone who thinks having a nice car == SPS is just jealous. If I could afford an exotic I would have one, regardless of the size of my member.

And the whole time hes going on and on blabbing about Muscle cars and LS1's etc. I think he is sad b/c all the ricebois in their Civic Si's look better and beat him with an engine half the displacement (3.8 vs 1.6L) hehe. Alright im just joking, but still its funny =)

Although I'm a die hard Chevy fan, it works both ways.
You may not like Rice, they may not like Camaro's.
However, that lear really should get a 454 with 500+hp
then it'd be really fast :D

As I see it, and this is influenced greatly by my father, riced cars are great, it is nice to see people getting back into their cars like it was in the 50's and 60's. I have no problem with a nice custom civic, at least it gives younger adults something to occupy their time other than crime and drugs.

nah man I was talkin about Valhalla, not u.
Anyways I think its pretty cool if they do their cars up nicely, not a cheap spring cut, sticker spread, and painting of the lights blue.

If its done in good taste and looks clean, I give them props. I did a few things to my car, like Chip, Intake, and modified the exhaust (had the middle muffler removed) sounds good and gave me a little more power, nothing serious. Time for a new car though.
