1 GB DDR ram
20 GB HD
Sound Blaster value
CD RW drive
FX5500 video card (not sure on memory, probably 128mb)
56k modem
onboard NIC

for $100. Does that seem like a good price? too much?

This computer is wofully low on hard drive space.

It sort of depends on what use you might be putting this computer to.

I don't think I would give them over $50.

just email, web browsing, and looking at car manual cds (those technical manuals for repairing cars or whatever)

the 1gb of ram makes it a wonderful all around pc.

throw in a nicer hd though.

If the system includes a copy of win XP of either home or pro---its well worth a $100.---and without upgrades it should also be able to run vista---in terms of hard disk space---why upgrade if it has enough room for your present needs----but if it ever gets over 15GB of data on it---you will have a tough time keeping it defragged.

But for comparative used value---look in only your local market---if you go with something like ebay---its going to take $40. or so to ship---in it least in my local market---deals that good seldom come along.

why? doesn't make sense. i'd think a tech forum would be a good place to check to see if you're getting a good deal on a tech product. but of course, this forum does many things assbackwards so i'm not surprised.

I don't make the rules.

I think this is to prevent this sort of thing in the FS/FT forum and then it carries on to other parts of the forum.

If you want a pricecheck, see what over similar computers have gone for in FS/FT or ebay.
