USED MONITOR??

Grade B: Monitor has similar reliability and functionality as Grade A product, however it will have small to moderate screen blemishing. Allowed blemishes are hair like scratches on the anti glare picture tube coating, or very slight, barely noticeable screen shadowing (permanent image on the screen left by static desktop image). We always make sure that blemishes allowed on our Grade B stock are very minor and do not impair functionality of the product. Grade B displays are excellent cost effective solution for computer gaming, DVD viewing as well as word processing, e-mailing and other general use. Grade B stock is covered by our basic 6 months product warranty.

After reading that I do not think it would be a good idea to get it. Might want to check this out though:

Man buying a used monitor is really a gamble!

1. Who knows how long its been used for. The phosphor can be worn out.
2. Could have convergence problems
3. Screen burns

If you cant test the monitor yourself DONT buy it. Its not worth the risk since it will cost you an arm and a leg to ship it back if there is a problem.

You can test a monitor with the nokia monitor test program. http://www.construnet.hu/nokia...TEST/monitor_test.html

what if i would get a Grade A?

Refurbished A: Unit is fully reconditioned* by our technicians and guaranteed to operate per factory specifications. "A" stock units do not have any screen blemishes, picture imperfections, or noticeable plastic wear.

Refurbished A-: Unit is fully reconditioned to operate as 'Refurbished A' type of merchandise with no screen surface, or picture imperfections. Only blemishes on plastic are possible, such as scratches, rubs, or minor scuffs (absolutely no cracks, or missing parts allowed).

I bought a Grade-B Sony G500 21" Trinitron from those guys last year when my trusty 10-year-old 17" CRT died. Cost me $170, and it was an interim solution to tide me over for 6 months before an anticipated move to another part of the country.

The Grade-B Sony did have some scratches in its casing, but it worked well no problems. It did its job before I relegated it to a secondary role once I settled in at my new place and got a brand-new Dell 2001FP up and running with my main rig.

My advice would be to get a used monitor only as a temporary solution.
