Used memory sources?

Upgrading some 4 year old Dell Vostro 230s desktops for a non-profit. There are 10 machines and they all have 2 gigs...would like to take them up to 4GB. Crucial has: 4GB kit (2GBx2) DDR3 PC3-12800 priced near $55. Similar memory on Newegg is near $30.

Any good sources for used memory that might be even less? What I'm finding by searching on google is not much of a bargain. Thank you for guidance.

You can try online classified listings like Gumtree or Craigslist, there's often people unloading old hardware for quite cheap. Also try eBay. I recently sold 4x1G DDR-400 for $30 lol.

The other option is to find some local independently owned computer shop. They usually have a stash of old hardware out the back or whatever, and they should be happy to sell them to you for relatively chip. The shop I work at does it for like $5 a stick I think, but no invoice, no warranty. You could probably get an even better deal if you buy a bunch.

Just be nice and polite and explain what you intend to do 🙂
