I've got a '93 Toyota Camry that I would sell for $4500. It's got 115k miles, AM/FM CD player. Air Conditioning works great. I've taken great care of it and have all the papers. This car will probably run at least another 100k miles. All major maintenance has been kept up with...come and take a vacation to Disney World and pick it up..LOL...

<< You could probably get yourself a 94 Accord V6 for your asking price. Any higher year and you'd probably be looking at an econo LX or EX.

<< Some Maxima die-hards argue that the '94s were one of the best build Maximas. >>

The same one my friend has whose transmission has been replaced twice in the last year.

Was his an auto? I'm talkng about the 5-spd.

As long as I can find something just as reliable as an Accord or Camry then I wouldn't mind getting another car.

What year Maxima's are good? A 4 banger is fine for my needs, don't need a V6.

RossMAN - Maximas have only been available with a v6 for some time now. Like I said before, you might check out the Altima. It's a very reliable car, and size-wise it's what you're looking for.

You too? Hmm, I know someone who had an '89 or so maxima and the transmission just died for no reason. I assumed it was an insolated incident. Though a sample size of two isn't much better.

<< The engines are top notch, but the AT transmissions aren't so great. They shift pretty harsh once they age a little (again, you might like it, you might not). >>

The harsh AT part was definitely true for the accord I had, but I didn't notice anything of the sort on the 94+ accords.
