Hey all,

A coworker is looking to get rid of their D5100 (under 3k shutter activations),18-55 & 55-200 lenses,3 lens filters, bag and an 8gb card.

This a decent deal? It's all mint, looks new. Should I save the $600 and step up to a better body, or is this a good enough deal for the tech?

Haha my bad, yes they're asking $600 firm, no wiggle room

EDIT: Let me jump back in and say this is for my girlfriend who has been dying to graduate from her point and shoot/phone camera for years.

IMO, no. You can buy a refurbished D5100 kit for only $460.

Just buy the refurbished and then let her choose the lenses she wants. An 8GB card is dirt cheap, them filters are most likely low quality, and bags are easy to come by.

IMO, I would rather have the D5100 + 18-55 + 35mm 1.8 and add a SB-400/SB-600 to get started with rather than a 55-200mm.
