Used CPU Question

I bought a used XP2600+ and need to know what i need to install a CPU Cooler, heatsink Artic Silver 5, this is my first build so i guess i should have bought it new, but i'm willing to learn. I know I need a fan, but what about the stuff used to attach it?

well the fan will attach to the motherboard, applying pressure to the cpu. MAKE SURE AND READ AS5 DIRECTIONS. it'll do more harm then good if applied to thick/thin

ok so i put cpu in mobo apply some as5 and then put on fan

ok i found a site Hardcorecooling.com that has it for 5.99 w/ free ship. it's a xp2600 t-bred so i'm guessing most 80mm coolers will work, heard thermaltake is good

make sure ur fan is not going to be too loud for your tastes, I prefer my rigs to be quiet, but that's just me. Any socket a fan will do for u

yes quiet is good, any recommendations
