Used cars that used to be rentals..

Let's say you can't afford a new car, but due to the large amount of deprication that takes place in a cars first year, you can afford a used one that is only one year old. If you found a car that you really liked, and was in great shape at a great price would you get it if you found out that it had been a rental car previously? Lets say this car still has about 15k miles left on the bumper to bumper warranty, and about 60k miles left on a powertrain warranty. Opinions and experiences welcome.

I didn't know it until i had bought it..but i have one. HELL NO would i ever do it again. Nothing but problems.

Only if I'm allowed to rag it to hell first, has a state inspection at a site of MY choosing, state emissions, and I'm allowed to put it up on a lift and inspect it myself.

if it's from a major rental company, yes.

the cars are abused, but they're also pretty well maintained. my best friend works as an accountant for Enterprise, and he bought a used car from them two years ago. never had any major problems with it.

No.. I know the way I treat rentals to still be very considerate yet i still beat the crap out of them 😀

There are only two cars which you can trash about in without getting into too much trouble: A rental and a Government car (national service can be a lot of fun - taxpayers money??? Who cares 😀)

I have this video of a rental jeep cherokee been driven off a bump in the road, getting air, and then landing in a bath of sparks.

You can guess what my answer is.

NO. In case you didn't hear me the first time, Hell NO.

if you find a rental that has 15,000 miles on it, then that has got to be the equivalent of 45,000 miles of regular driving. When I have a rental, I don't check the oil, I gun it, brake hard, etc.
