Used Car Around $6000 Canadian

clickynext

I'm in the Vancouver area, looking for a used car around $6000 Canadian funds. That's around 4,900 USD, but cars tend to be more expensive here than in the US.

As far as features go, there aren't many requirements but it has to be bigger than a miata (I looked at one, it was too small, and too expensive here too) and obviously I want a reliable car.

Give me some recommendations, thanks for your input.

What is that, like $10 US?

Wow, $10?! Inflation's a bitch. I figured it would be abotu $3. 😛
Inflation? lol, what would inflation have to do with it? And the Canadian dollar has gained an unbelievable amount on the American dollar in the past while, which isnt necessarily a good thing for us.

you need more flow man! go to the bank and get a loan. spend about $10k on your car or you'll just end up with someone's lemon anyway. make payments on that son of a bitch.

That is a dumb statement.

Already have one, I'm looking at something a bit more upscale.

Well living in Canada, the winters would be a concern I should think.I'd go with someting AWD most likely from Subaru. Check prices on Imprezas in your area.

They are good, reliable cars that run forever when properly maintained.

Damn, does that have ABS? And damn, does anyone have anything intelligent to contribute?

EDIT: thanks, K

My intelligent contribution was that meltdown75 made a dumb statement.

Seriously you need to narrow the field a bit.

OK. So your opinion was dumb. Reevaluate it.

Okay, I need something that's possible to drive on snow since we get that once in a while here in the winter. So, FWD would probably be preferred, or a RWD with exceptional control/balance on snow. I think I'd prefer a smaller car, just not miata-small. Fuel efficiency is good, since all I'm doing with it is driving to/from school every day. I can use my parents big cars to move large things whenever I need to, so that's not much of a concern.
