so i picked up a Pilot water blade today. normally i use a chamois to dry but i wanted to try something new. first thought was $20 for a piece of rubber on a handle? i got a black car and am scared to scratch it.

holy crap was it worth it though. dried up in 1/3 the time, like they said. easily can get 90%+ off with this thing. anyway, this is it, try it and see. got it from autozone

I got two of these on clearance like two years ago. Its a lot faster!!! Not sure on the scratches, I figure a dirty blade or a bad wash can hurt the paint

upon further research, don't use this unless you want to scratch the hell out of your car

lol

lol awesome update and very true.

Personally I don't like leafblowers either. They can easily shoot rocks and debris out at 150+mph. It might not chip the paint, but it can't be great for the clearcoat.

I stilll stand by MF drying towels. I have the "big blue III" (4 of them) and they work great with no scratching.

Leafblowers are nice but they are only another tool in your arsenal. I like using them to blow water out of door handles, trim, mirrors, etc. so I don't get "tracers" after drying.

Agreed, I used to use my air compressor (filtered) to blow out the crevices. Nowadays I don't care quite as much, I only go through that detail if I'm going to wax

You did something then to cause the scratch. I've used mine for years and not once has it been any cause for concern. Take proper care of it and it works beautifully.

I use it on this and believe me, if it was an issue, I'd use something else.
