I've seen a lot of EVGAs 8800gts 320 mb video cards on craigslist going for anywhere from $150-175.
I've heard these are only slightly worse than the 8800gt card, is this true? If so, then that would make it a good deal I'd think.

I just bought a Radeon 3850 for $150, I'm starting to wonder if I should return it or sell it and buy a GTS instead.

A G80 320mb version? Looks like 640mb versions are going low $200's on ebay. A tough call with new GT's for $220. Frustrating isn't it...

No reason to return your card to buy one of those. I have the 8800GTS 320MB and my brother has almost the same computer specs but with a 3850 256MB card.

I score 8200 in 3dMark06 and he scores 7800 in 3dMark06. Not a big enough difference and our cards perform almost identically in real world gaming.

His image quality is also superior to my Nvidia 8800 card. Keep your ATI 3850 in my opinion. :)

Sounds like a good deal if your upgrading from something less powerful. Your Radeon 3850 should also overclock to 3870-type performance, and is very efficient on power. I'd stick with what you have, and enable overdrive for extrea performance.

I went for a new 2900Pro that was $134 shipped after rebate. It overclocks quite well so gives "almost" 3870 performance. The only reason I went for the 2900Pro instead of the 3850, was that the 2900Pro had 512MB of RAM, and that was a bit more expensive on the 3850. I would have definately considered getting an 8800GTS if it could be had for near $150.
