Used 1111kwh on this month's electric bill. Wait - what?

Does that sound right? From what I understand, that's quite a bit of juice. I have a pretty small, two story condo with no huge energy sinks that I can think of. Heh, figures that the month I get a second monitor is when my bill would go up.

That's not normal usage, right?

EDIT: Doh - this is stupidly important - we have 60-62 day billing cycles here.

They estimate your usage most months, then every now and then they actually read the meter. You must have used more than they estimated in the previous months.

One 100 watt lightbulb left on for the month is 72 kwh. Start doing some math around the house and look just how it adds up.

You could've gone back in time with that much juice.

I don't think that's too crazy. I used 1600 kwh last month. Then again, I've got a house, a pool, and it's still been hot enough to use the AC.

I think (IIRC) we use around 1MWh per month (i.e. 1000kWh) during peak months...somewhere around 600kWh at minimum (low heat/low cool months)

5 people. energy star washer and fridge, electric dryer and stove, dishwasher, massive pot garde....nevermind
