Use two networks at the same time?

Hi,

I have a Network that i have depicted in a diagram over here:

Description of my netwrok:
PC is connected to router 1 that is connected to the internet.
Laptop is connected to a wifi router that is connected to a cable modem which is connected to the internet.
PC is connected to the wifi router via a wireless adapter

QUESTION 1:
I wanna know, can i use both the networks at the same time:
for eg:
On my PC, use router 1 to connect to the internet while connect via the wifi router to my laptop to share files.

QUESTION 2:
Can i force Firefox to connect to the internet via one connection and utorrent to connect to the internet via another?

Question 3:
One more thing, my pc has vista and laptop win 7. i tried connecting them but it was no use. is there a guide that i can follow to get them connected? i have had this problem before too, but after some fidgeting, it works. but a guide or any steps to follow would be good.

Providing that your PC has 2 nics. Configure the one that is connected to your WIFI router with only a IP and SUBNET with valid entries.

Then configure the other nic normally with IP,SUB,GATEWAY,DNS. Make sure that the networks are different (ie. 192.168.0.0\24 and 192.168.1.0\24). You will likely also have to update your hosts file to if you want name resolution to your laptop.

As for splitting apps, no. You can however torrent on one system and surf on the other and you will then be splitting traffic becasue each system has 1 path to the internet.

Also, if the Wifi router is connected to a cable modem (and thus the internet) how is your other router connecting to the internet?

Both, the cable modem and router1(wired Dlink router) have a separate connection to the internet.

Its late night here. I will try your solution out and reply tomorrow.

JackMDS, as you point out, i dont have the Dual wireless router. So , my two networks dont work at the same time.
